Christian
Education |
|
In past summers the Christian
Education Department has sponsored traditional VBS programs, fun
filled Theater Camps, and most recently multi generational summer
field trips.
Although Christ Presbyterian Church is a small church, it boasts an
outstanding Christian Education Program with weekly Sunday School
classes for children from kindergarten through high school. These
classes are taught by gifted teachers who really enjoy working with
children. They use the standard Presbyterian Church (USA) curriculum
in their classes. Each summer, the Christian Education Department
hosts a fun-filled Theater Camp.
There are two adult classes that meet each week Both classes
choose their curriculum in September. The young adult class
(singles & couples with school-aged children) addresses contemporary
issue with group discussion. Class members take turns facilitating
the discussion each week. The second adult class is taught by
Joanne Widmer. This class focuses on Bible study.

Youth Group |
|
The Jr. & Senior High Youth Groups meet
once or twice each month for fun, fellowship and mission activities.
Parents help plan and facilitate these activities. The Youth have
taken summer mission trips for many years. This past year they went
to Cairo, Illinois where they worked with children and families in a
poverty stricken area. To finance their trip they sponsor many fund
raisers during the year, mainly the making and selling of Candy
Easter Eggs and chocolate buckeyes at Christmas time. |

Children's Church
|
|
Children
from kindergarten through grade 4 who attend Christ Presbyterian
Church participate in worship service which includes a special
"Children's Moment." After this the children go to Children's Church
where they participate in Bible related activities and crafts. After this,
they go to Children's Church for a special service which includes
age appropriate lessons with crafts.

Nursery |
|
The newly renovated church nursery is
available for infants and toddlers. Caregivers are scheduled to
supervise their care in a safe environment during church worship. A
family bathroom with child-size toilet adjoins the nursery. |

Missions
|
|
The
church generously supports both local and foreign mission projects.
Locally, the church supports the Milford-Miami Ministries by filling
food boxes each month. Each year, members of our congregation
participate in a 500-mile bike ride in support of Habitat for
Humanity. Through the Presbyterian PCUSA, financial support is
provided to children at risk with an annual Pentecost offering.
Other special annual offerings that are used for mission efforts
are: Worldwide Communion, Joy, One Great Hour of Sharing offerings.

Music Ministry
|
|
Music
plays an integral role in the life of this church which is fortunate
to have a talented music director, along with dedicated musicians
and members of the congregation who regularly play in an adult bell
choir. Our worship music is a blend of contemporary praise songs
and traditional hymns with a chancel choir for seasonal programs.
