Christian
Education |
|
Although Christ Presbyterian Church is a small church, it boasts an
outstanding Christian Education Program with weekly Sunday School
classes for children from kindergarten through high school. These
classes are taught by gifted teachers who really enjoy working with
children. They use the standard Presbyterian Church(USA) curriculum
in their classes. Each summer, the Christian Education Department
hosts a fun-filled Vacation Bible School.
There are two adult classes that meet each week Both classes
choose their curriculum in September. The young adult class
(singles & couples with school-aged children) addresses contemporary
issue with group discussion. Class members take turns facilitating
the discussion each week. The second adult class is taught by
Joanne Widmer. This class focuses on Bible study.

Youth Group |
|
The Jr. & Sr. High Youth Groups meet twice each month for fun and
fellowship. They plan various social activities throughout the
year. Many members of the youth group participate in a mission
trip to Mexico each summer where they work to build adequate homes
for those without a humane place to live. To finance their trip,
they sponsor many fundraisers during the year, including making and
selling chocolate Easter eggs. |

Children's Church
|
|
Children in 4th through 6th grades who attend
Christ Presbyterian Church participate in worship service including
a special "children's moment." During the Children's Moment, they
hear a brief presentation about the lesson of the day and they also
bring coins that they have saved to contribute to a special mission
project in support of Gerson, a young Guatemalan boy. After this,
they go to Children's Church for a special service which includes
age appropriate lessons with crafts.

Nursery |
|
During both the Sunday School hour and worship service, toddlers are
welcomed into the nursery. During Sunday School, the
caregiver presents an
age-appropriate lesson to the toddlers and supervises their play in
a safe environment. A family bathroom with child-size toilet
adjoins the nursery.

Missions
|
|
The
church generously supports both local and foreign mission projects.
Locally, the church supports the Milford-Miami Ministries by filling
food boxes each month. Each year, members of our congregation
participate in a 500-mile bike ride in support of Habitat for
Humanity. Through the Presbyterian PCUSA, financial support is
provided to children at risk with an annual Pentecost offering.
Other special annual offerings that are used for mission efforts
are: Worldwide Communion, Joy, One Great Hour of Sharing offerings.

Music Ministry
|
|
Music
plays an integral role in the life of this church which is fortunate
to have a talented music director, along with dedicated musicians
and members of the congregation who regularly play in an adult bell
choir. Our worship music is a blend of contemporary praise songs
and traditional hymns with a chancel choir for seasonal programs.

Women's Group
|
|
The
church has an active Women's Group which supports the church
financially through its many fundraising projects: rummage sales,
market research focus studies, and a Holiday Boutique. This
past year, the group supplied diapers for a local pregnancy center,
gave holiday gifts to Clermont senior citizens and needy children,
filled 58 shoeboxes for the "Operation Christmas Child" ministry, and
donated to both local and other Presbyterian mission projects.
